Banks offer many more services than Curvo does: checking and savings accounts, mortgages, credits... When it comes to investing, Curvo offers a different philosophy than traditional banks. We believe in passive investing through index funds, but they have historically offered only actively managed funds. These are very expensive to run so they charge high fees for them. Even though the global economy has been growing consistently over the last 100 years, there have been periods of downturns where returns were negative (think about the corona crisis!). To iron out temporary fluctuations in the markets and end up with a positive return, it's important to invest for the long term.‍ Curvo is not for you if: you want to actively pick stocks to invest in you're looking to make a quick buck through your investments Investing is forFew readers

  • Why would I need Curvo if I already have a pension saving plan ("épargne-pension" or "pensioensparen")?
It's great that you're already saving for your pension. We think the Belgian pension saving plan is a good system thanks to the tax break. However we see a couple of limitations: Your contributions are capped at €1,270 per year. Pension saving funds are constrained in how they invest your money. This puts a limit on the return of your investments. Curvo Portfolios are a good option if you wish to save more than €1,270 in a year or if you seek a higher return.
